We’ve been skiving!!
Wednesday was our weekly shop, we were home quite early, didn’t do much in the afternoon.
Thursday, did a bit of schoolwork in the morning but as the weather was lovely we decided to go to Corfe Mullen Rec again, unfortunately the playground was shut for maintenance, but the dogs had a good walk anyway. Mum had Eden for the night and they went swimming on Friday morning at the local swimming pool.
So Friday morning I was Edenless! The boys were good though, I must say Cals washing up isn’t as good as his sisters! Eden got back about 11ish and Malc got home at 1pm. We spent the late morning out in the garden, we moved Riminis’ rose, Keep Smiling, as it didn’t seem to be doing too well where it was and we planted the rose that we bought for the rabbit which was called Rhapsody in Blue
The children also made a "cage" to go round both of them to protect them from Burleys jaws!
Malc has completely dug over the veg patch and we put the carrots in.

Eden took some pictures of the veg already planted.
Cody, our budding gardener!
Cal had Beavers and it was my night to help, they did recognising track signals, like "Go Home" " Danger" Then we went into the woods to make the signals out of pebbles and sticks.
Saturday we went to Upton Park to their Wildlife Watch Group, we use to go to this about 3 years ago,we went for about 3 years but stopped for some reason, not enough hours to do everything I suspect. Anyway we decided to try and go again, they had some small mammals that the Dorset Wildlife Trust had trapped as they are hoping to put together an Atlas of small mammals across the UK.
The pictures aren’t brilliant as they were in plastic containers.
They also had owl pellets to disect,Eden refused to do it and went outside the classroom, the boys were great, I tried to show interest in it but had to go outside severals times to stop myself from heaving. Claire did this on her blog a while ago and I thought I’d got away with it. There were 5 skulls in our one complete with teeth.
The skull is upside-down so you can see the front teeth and there’s a thigh bone by it.
We took the flats with us and took a picture of them with the ranger, unfortunately I didn’t ask permission to put it on my blog only send the picture back with the flat.
We went to the cafe for a much needed cup of tea and then came home.
Eden and I had already taken the dogs over the field in the morning before we went out, so we all sat about in the garden, well Malc and I did, the children planted out the french beans, then they put some sunflower seeds in pots, did a tray of Spring Onions and some Rocket. We’ve done them a bit late but we’ll see what comes up anyway.
We decided to have our first bar-b-que of the season. Last year we bought a new gas bar-b-que and we hadn’t used it yet, so we rang Mum and she came up, it was smashing, I even had a Magners, being a Dorset girl we have to uphold the tradition of drinking cider!
Today we did the chores, Eden, Callum, Clark and Soloman went to Grandmas to help her do some work in her back garden, they really seem to love gardening! Funny children !
Malcolm and I took the dogs out with just Cody and it was luveerrlly, just the two of us, Cody doesn’t talk yet so he doesn’t count!
We picked the children up about 1 ish and we all went for a drive, I’ve got a roast dinner on as I type cooking away, although it’s a bit hot to be roasting.
I hope for us all to have refreshing baths and an early night! All this skiving’s exhausting!
I’ve just been proof-reading this so it has been saved for a while, we’ve had dinner and Grandma has taught Callum and Clark to crotchet, it has een so quiet as they were all concentrating so hard. Absolute bliss!
