We’ve gone scrabble mad!

A good mornings work was done, Maths, Eden did areas of compound shapes, Calum and Clark did subtraction.

English, Eden wrote a story about an imaginary friend, prompted by reading "Chocky" by John Wyndham. Callum did verbs in a Letts wizard work book, he got the grasp of them by the end of the page. Clark did "ch" and "sh" as beginning and end sounds.

Callum and Clark read me their ORT books.

The flats learnt with us.

flat learning flat learning

Soloman and Cody were back asleep by 10-30am, as we’re getting up so much earlier they’re having a sleep in the mornings now not the afternoons which is working out better because it means I can concentrate on teaching the top three without things being put down the toilet and babies climbing all over the table! I managed to read a chapter from "Chocky" without interruption.

We made a salad for lunch, Eden made some coleslaw, Mum came up, she bought some fairy cakes and a bar of cooking chocolate for the children to melt and put on top of the cakes and decorate them.

In the end only Eden was interested in doing them.

I peeled loads of veg for a stew for tea, chatted with Mum.

I put a sheet on one of the top bunk beds and hung it over so that the boys could play pirates which they enjoyed for a little while.

Who needs toys when you’ve got a plastic container to play with.

Come aboard me 'earties

I managed to do three loads of washing and dry each load on the washing line today, not bad for a forecast of sun and rain. I washed a load and hung it out, put another load on, the first load dried so I put the second load out and on it went. I’ve just got to iron it all now, I seem to iron the same clothes every couple of days, it feels a bit like the "Groundhog Day" film, I’m replaying the same ironing over and over!!

Lolly time!

Lolly time

Malcs bus was late this evening so he was 15 minutes later than he’s been the past couple of days, the children had him dead and buried, bus crash, all sorts, I had to ring them, it didn’t help that he didn’t hear his mobile, so therefore he must have been dead because he wasn’t answering. They really miss him. Oh to be so loved!

Malc is playing Scrabble with Eden and Callum, hopefully we’ll have more appropriate words this evening! We’re eating coconut, we’ve saved the milk to put in tomorrows smoothie,  the children did work out a recipe for today but then we forgot to actually make it !

I’m off to facebook, it’s mine turn on the Scrabble !!
