Oh Sunny days…..

Went shopping first thing this morning, got home and unpacked it, had some lunch, Mum came up and we went out.

It was a beautiful sunny day, so we went to Upton park it’s only about 2 miles by road and 1 mile if you walk up through the footpaths, today we drove there.

bluebells

We took the flats with us, I let the children loose with the camera, in all they took 74 photos, of flats, ducks, peacocks, flowers, trees, Oh and did I mention ducks!

We played " Hide and Seek", " Follow the leader"  " Fetch a feather/stick/leaf"

Upton Park is renowned for it’s peacocks, so we took a photo of the flats with them, one was displaying his tail rather nicely inside his pen, we took the photos and walked round the other side to find one displaying his tail outside the pen!!

I’ve been waiting for days like this, I hope the weather holds so we can go other places.

Flats First Excursion

Today we took Flat Bratz to our local library, we had to strap her into the mini-bus to make sure she was safe!

Clunk, click, every trip

Our Librarian is lovely, we explained about the flat travellers, she has ordered three books including the original book which the group is based on, so we should be able to read them when they come in.

She has said that Eden can take Flat Bratz to Bookclub next Friday, we might even have another flat traveller by then, the children have been bugging me all day to put the sticker on the "recieved" map, so I can tell they’re enjoying this.

Malc read the children a story at the library whilst I was choosing my books, so we had to take  a photo of that too!

Storytelling

The library also had some hardbacks for sale for 20p each, so we bought about 13 books, bargain!

Got home and had some lunch, caught up on emails and had a quick look at the SHE Forum .

Malc put a shelf up in Callums room, Mum came up for tea,we sent an email to our travellers family, first time we’ve sent photos as an attachment, but it seemed to work.

Eden, Callum and Clark went back with Mum to watch Dr Who, the only programme they really miss with not having a TV.

I took the opportunity to have a lovely hot bath, Malc got Cody to sleep.

Then Soloman and I sat on the sofa and I read four stories from Wind in the Willows, we don’t get many chances to do this on our own and it was lovely.

Malc has gone to pick the children up, I’m writing this then I hope to start reading "Chocky" By John Wyndham which is our next readaloud book. I remember reading this as a child and loving it. I try to pick something that the children wouldn’t normally read, not necessarily a classic just a different genre to what the children would pick themselves.

St Georges Parade tomorrow, I’m helping out, I hope the weather picks up, I don’t fancy sitting in church soaking wet after walking up the High Street, honestly the things I do for my children!
