Up at the Farm!
As usual we’ve been so busy I’ve not had time to post and now I’m left trying to remember all that we’ve done. We were away at the weekend in our caravan at our favourite campsite again. It poured with rain on Friday so we thought we were in for a real weekend of it even though "googled" the weather and it said it was going to be good.
Cody after a rather unfortunate encounter with a puddle!
Mum joined us on Saturday as she’s back from Italy, she slept in the awning with Eden, in the morning some of the boys joined her. She puts the plastic on the bed so that when it’s cold the quilt stays warm, she’s a pensioner, who am I to argue?!!
On Satuday we went to Sturts Farm Open Day. The children brushed donkeys, we looked at a man carving Love Spoons which I adore and have several of them, he was telling us about the wood and how he carves them, a really friendly, imformative chap.
We also saw bees and honey which was great because the night before we’d watched "The Bee Movie" so the children remembered some bits of it. We also had a guided walk around the farm by a man named Eden, much to my Edens disgust who says it is absolutely a girls name not a boys!
One of the ladies on the walk said she was amazed at how much my children knew about veg growing and how many they recognised just by looking at their leaves, the veg patch this year paid off then, even if it didn’t yield much at least they learnt!
We spent Saturday night talking and drinking with two ladies pitched in a tent next to us who had two of the most georgous collies I’ve seen. The children were smitten, you wouldn’t think that they had dogs themselves!
Sunday we lazed around the campsite, the weather was fantastic, we played with the children and their boomerangs! Yes I did say Boomerangs, it was so funny, trying to catch them again and it’s true they do come back! Well after a bit of practice!
Monday we packed up slowly and we got home at dinnertime on Monday.
Today I’ve spent the morning cooking, Eden cooked Dorset Apple Cake and some choc chip cookies, I made some cheese scones and three quiches, one of which we had for lunch. Callum has made a jam roly-poly thingy with the pastry that was left for Malcs lunchbox tomorrow
I did five loads of washing today, I’ve managed to dry all of them and I’ve even ironed four of those loads.
Let’s face it I’m just a domestic godess!!
With a little help from the Flats. Eden took this standing on the side above the food, looks a bit wierd!
I’m now off to bed because my poor aching bones can’t stand the pace of being a domestic godess!
