Going camping!
I woke up today with a sore throat and a headache and decided as a lot of teachers were on strike today, then so was I! Not that I’ll get better working conditions or more pay!
So the children got out the Tweenie tent, which is I’ve just worked out 9 years old and still going strong. The children made a tent and awning! they took some books in to read and a snack for their picnic and spent about 3 hours playing in it, You had Mum, (Becky) Dad ( Mike) Mark and Sam were their sons and Cody was just Cody because he wouldn’t answer to any other name!! Lord only knows where they got the names from, they’re not friends or relatives!
I spent the morning making cold tea cake, cheese scones! and rock cakes.
We had to stay in today to wait for a man to come and change our electric meter, he turned up about 3-30pm, I was on tender hooks all morning that he’d turn up whilst I was cooking as he had to turn the electric off and our oven’s electric. Anyway he was lovely, took the children through every step, let the children take photos (don’t ask!!)
He had a huge torch with him which the children were fascinated with as we’ve only got a little wind up one, he also had this torch which he let the boys try for size!
He left and Mum came up, we had tea, the children made homemade coleslaw, a beautiful salad with herbs out of the garden, and we had jacket potatos with it.
The three youngest have been a nightmare going to bed for some reason, Malc’s still up there trying to get Soloman to go to sleep. I’m going soon, I feel really exhausted today.
Ohh, by the way we’ve got a new gnome in the garden! That’s what toy wheelbarrows are for. Sitting in!
Who needs toys when you’ve got a baby brother to play with?
