Just living life!
Thankfully yesterday morning I got my lay-in, Malc got up with the two youngest about 7ish and he let me have a couple more hours, he’s a goodun’. I don’t now what’s wrong lately I’m so tired all the time, we have a good diet, we exercise, we do have periods where we have a lot of stress and I know that can tire you out. I think it’s having five children and a four bedroomed house to keep up together, sometimes I just feel exhausted.
Anyway, Malc had Monday off as holiday so we pottered about in the morning, of course it was raining,so our planned outing of dogwalking and picnicing had to be cancelled.
We went to our favourite petshop to buy some sand sheets for the budgies, ended up buying them a swing each. Aaww…
Bought a halti collar for Burley because I’m fed up of being pulled down the road by him, I’ve used these before with great success.
In our old mini-bus we had a dog cage in the back, Malc took out a couple of seats, but he didn’t want to in this one and I’ve found it more difficult to take the dogs out with us because one of the children has to hold them on their leads, so Malc has taken out one of the seats and we bought another dog cage to go in the back, that way all the dogs can go in it to travel and I know they’re safe, it’s much easier to get children and dogs out when we reach our destination, safer too.
Today I was hoping to put this to the test, but it’s been pouring down all day, so much so that we all got up and took Malc to work this morning because he would have got absolutely soaked, see I do love him!
So I did a huge pile of ironing whilst Eden, Callum and Clark answered their emails, Eden had quite a few as she belongs to a children home-ed yahoo group.
Then we sat and did the puzzle that they started a couple of days ago, Soloman and Cody were asleep so we could do it in peace. Puzzles aren’t usually my "thing" but I quite enjoyed helping them.
I read the first of the "Flat Stanley" books so that they know what the "Flat Travellers" are based on.
We’ve also got a couple more of the series out of the library.
Eden’s back at guides this evening, they’re meant to be putting up tents and cooking outside, luckily it’s brightened up a bit now for them.
Blogring:

The dog cage sounds like a great idea, much safer too as you say.
Hope the guide’s went well, we have tent erecting in scouts in a few weeks time so they know how to do it for camp - should be fun, lol!

Thanks for the comments, Bridget. I love coming to your blog. You’ve inspired us to do the Sketch Tuesdays and we did our first one yesterday. And yes, I did actually get the flats sent out yesterday,(hurray!) but then today I found the “suitcase” that your picture flat had come in, so I’ll send that along with our flat to you if that is still okay to send. If not, let me know and I’ll send the suitcase separately. So sorry for the oversight. Your flat was very hardy–you all did a great job.
I’m impressed with your ironing! I’m not nearly as busy now since my two oldest have moved on. That only leaves four at home and the youngest are my 11 year old twins so I don’t have young ones, but I won’t buy anything that needs extra fussing. Machine wash warm, tumble dry low is as fancy as I get. Anything else stays on the rack for someone else! I don’t mind ironing, but I just don’t have the time for it. Still, when you say you have a pile of ironing, part of me remembers the smell of ironing (I love that) and it is kind of relaxing to stand and iron a pile of things. That is, as long as people aren’t in the car waiting and this is a last minute effort for somebody’s only decent shirt or pants for church or whatever. That’s never pleasant. Still, even without ironing we can make a muck of things. Our usual dressing snafu is lost and missing shoes. Jason, (the twin with Down Syndrome) excels at that. He’s lost so many shoes we’ve had many, many emergency stops at a shoe store, taking him in with his sister’s shoes or just barefoot in a shopping cart to get shoes on our way to a function. We’ve long threatened to tattoo his feet to look like he’s wearing shoes!
Looking forward to more of your blog!

Hi Karen- send the suitcase whenever, we would love to host your flat, let us know when it’s been sent so we can look out for it. I agree about the ironing, lovely when you’ve got time and it’s not a last minute needed item! We’ve been looking for a lost sandal here all day, still haven’t found it !
