Malbridge House

At one with nature…

Malc went back to work this morning, we got up, did housework and decided to plant our peas out, our veg patch hasn’t been dug over completely yet, so we used the bit that has been dug peas

Notice the straight rows (not!)

The ladder’s there because we were doing things up the plum tree which resides in our veg patch!

We made some home-made bird feeders using pine-cones, coconut shells, we made the food using lard and bird seed mixed together, Eden climbed afore-mentioned ladder to get them out the tree, I mixed up the food and the children put them back on the tree.

We then  found at the back of the cupboard   remembered that we had some monkey nuts that we’d been given from a Ranger at Avon Heath when we last visited, so we got some string and the children threaded them through the nuts so that we could hang them on the tree too.

family affair

Soloman and Clark passed the nuts whilst Eden and Callum threaded.

We were joined by a new Flat today, we are hosting Flat Sarah from Australia, she arrived just in time to watch us with our other two flats.

The flats also had to climb the ladder to have a closer look at the tree!

At least my darling daughter looks happier today, do you like her snazzy wellies? No green ones for our Eden, good Lord no, we have to look good even over the back fields, after all you never know who we’ll meet!!

A friend came round to play this afternoon, she’s nearly 13 yrs old and comes from a big family herself so she just picks up Cody if he’s crying, plays games with the youngest boys, she’s lovely.

Finally today was Sketch Tuesday, unfortunately Malc only put Edens and Clarks across because he didn’t realise that Callum had done one, so after a big apology was given I said I’d put them all on my blog, because let’s face it, I get hundreds of visitors a day and there’s such a big chance that their talent will be " discovered"

This week the topic was " Something that swims"

Eden did a mermaid.

Callum did a big fish.
