Koober and Onslow

Budgies

Meet Koober and Onslow, the latest addition, hopefully they won’t learn to talk and imitate the dogs and bark at everything going by!

Mesmerised

At least with the dogs as mesmerised as this they’re not noticing people walking by and barking!

I walked the dogs with Eden this morning, it was beautiful over the back fields about 8-30 this morning. Burley is great with his chukka still, he’s still bringing it back and dropping it, he’s quite an intelligent little dog, very eager to please.

We picked my Mum up and headed off to a garden centre, we’ve got two really nice ones in our area, we picked out a lovely yellow rose called "Keep Smiling" We’ve put it in our back garden, we’ve got some paving slabs and we’re going to write something nice on one and put some sort of coating on the top to weatherproof it, we’re not sure what we’re going to write, we’re going to have a think about it and that will be our memorial to Rimini.

We also bought some rhubarb, I was told to buy one called "Champagne" and I’ve not been able to find it anywhere, but we found one today so that’s in the back garden complete with half the compost in the hole with it!

We left Callum at Mums to dig some holes for her as she bought herself a rose and we also bought one for her as a thankyou for her help, I don’t know what I would have done without her, especially this last week, she’s been there night and day for me, I was on the phone last Sunday from about 1am until 5am talking because I couldn’t sleep, she was there yesterday for us looking after the children so that Malc and I could go to the vets together, she’s sent us lovely e-cards to keep us smiling, I hope when my children are older that they feel about me the way that I feel about my Mum.

Malc has dug some more of the veg patch, we’ve put in some tomotoes, lettuce, some more runner beans, we’ve still got to put in our french beans and peas, which I’m hoping to do over the next few days.

Mum came up for tea, the bottom three children are asleep, just Eden and Callum to go, I’m not going to be far behind tonight.

  3. ps, your comment about the budgies imitate the dogs reminded me of our old canaries who could imitate a ‘trim phone’ so perfectly that I answered them several times!

For those who are too young to know what a trim phone is (including Bridget of course), it was a ‘modern’ phone back in the early 80’s that had a very shrill ring tone, unlike the normal ‘ring ring’ that went before.
