More of the same…

Beautiful, beautiful day again today, I washed three loads of washing and dried it all, just got to iron it now!

Eden did some Maths and her blog, Callum did a workbook that we were given last summer at a local farm open day, so it was all about tractors and harvesting, in the form of word puzzles, Clark did some more handwriting practice.

I kept it short today, Eden and Clark made some coleslaw and a salad for tea so that we could go out and not have a lot of cooking to do when we got back.

So we went to Poole Park it’s about 3 miles from us just past the town centre. We took the flats, Poole Park is renowned for it’s ducks, swans and Canadian geese, and get this we even have a goose poop picker-upper machine, because believe me it use to be everywhere!

Flats climbing tree

I use to climb this tree as a child about 30.. years ago!

Hug a tree today!

wait for me

Can I play too?

We then went to the imformation centre and picked up some leaflets on the history of Poole Park, and one on the trees in the park which Cal wanted for his Tree lapbook. The ladies there also gave us a quizz worksheet which we completed, luckily she gave me a leaflet with the answers on, so I’m going to fill in a blank leaflet and send it back with our flats along with the history leaflets.

Flats at imformation centre

We went to the cafe to get an ice-cream, extortionate prices well worth the cost to see the smiley faces on the children!

We then went to feed the ducks with some food that we’d bought at the imformation centre.

cody and ducks

Cody was mesmerised by them.

We sat on the cricket field on our picnic blanket and read a chapter of "Chocky" and then the children ran round with a football.

another tree

we finished off the day by climbing another tree.

Arrived home, Mum arrived literally two minutes after us and stayed for tea. Everyone has had baths, my arms have gone a bit red, so I’m off to rub in some baby lotion!

  4. Sounds like a lovely day! I love having something already for dinner ready when we get home from a day out. nothing worse than coming home and having to get right to ‘work’.
