One of those weekends

You know the ones where you seem to be running around but getting nothing done.

We stayed in the caravan on Saturday night, the wind was really howling, it was blowing Mums watering cans all over the place, I think we got up about six times in all. The dogs kept barking because things were banging around, the boys kept waking up, we got about four hours sleep in the end.

My Mums neighbour had to go and rescue her sandpit, it had blown all the way up her drive, that’s what the big noise was that we heard.

Cody and Clark woke at 5-30 am, so we put on their shoes and coats and sent them out into my Mums back garden to play with their new dolls and pushchairs, so we could lay and doze, unfortunately a fight broke out and they woke Eden up, who was staying in the house with Mum, but the were right under her bedroom window!

Had a lovely breakfast, of bacon, scrambled eggs and toast, packed everything up, went to start the mini-bus and guess what? Yes, you guessed it, it wouldn’t start! Called the AA ( again). My Mums house seems to be jinxed when it comes to starting our mini-bus.

The AA man couldn’t have been nicer, he diagnosed a dead battery, rang Halfords to get a part number and price, checked they were open as it was Bank Holiday.

Malc dropped me, children and dogs off at our house and off he went, not daring to turn the ignition off until he got there!

We were going to go back and stay in the caravan but I was so shattered I just wanted a bath and my own bed.

Mum came to ours for tea and took Eden back with her to stay the night, she brought her back this morning.

Last night Callum and I made fruit scones and some cheese scones and this morning whilst we were waiting for Eden we made two cold tea cakes and two Dorset Apple cakes. Nearly all the scones went at dinner time!

We went to our local pet shop because Burley has broken his collar pulling like mad on the lead when he’s walked I’ve no idea how!

Popped to see my sister, come home and had tea, Malcs sandwiches are done, I’m such a good wife!

All children are in bed and I’m following soon, ready to start another week of education, washing, ironing, cooking, oh my life, what an exciting one I lead!

  1. Hope the new battery signifies the ends of start up probs with the camper and that you have a better week than the weekend…
