All round nice day,

We didn’t have a very good nights sleep last night, Clark was up about three times, I’m not sure if he was having bad dreams, but we got up about 7am and I definitely wanted to snuggle back down under the covers. Unfortunately, we had a workman coming to put a vent through the lounge wall, something to do with having an open fire and cavity wall insulation!

We did quite a bit of school work, the maps of the state of America were printed off and laminated, we looked up the town where our flats have been sent and put a sticker on the spot, we numbered the stickers and we’ve written an index with the right adress to correspond with the number on the sticker.

The children marking their maps

Then Clark did some handwriting practice, Callum did some Maths, revision mainly so I can see where he’s at, Eden did similles.

Through all of this the workman was banging a hole in the wall and giving the children progress reports every time he went through a layer, until we had a hole, he was very good with their questions, and not a word about them not being at school/doing schoolwork.

Mum came up and we had some lunch, she took Eden, Callum and Clark back with her and brought them home in time for tea. With Soloman and Cody asleep we had a really peaceful afternoon, and I did actually say to Malc, just think this is what it would be like if they were in school, I know, wash my mouth out with soap!

Mum stayed for tea, after we’d cleared everything up, she looked after the children and Malc and I took the dogs over the fields, it was bliss, I think we even held hands at one point! The relative peace of the afternoon and our walk on our own was just what was needed after the stressful first three days of the week.

Now, to round it all off Callum and I are going to read a book so that he can do a review of it for the SHE April competition. Today, I love my life again!!

Oh just thought I’d add, some people have a naughty step, well personally I don’t agree with them, why would I need one when we’ve got this!!

Dog cage!

  5. I still love this ‘flats’ idea, as soon as I can get my printer working I’m going to have to bug you for the info about it again… ;)

Looking forward to seeing those entries for the competition too, well done kids for getting stuck in so quickly. :)

The dog crate is hilarious, but I cannot work out if you have a huge crate or very small kids… I can only get one of mine in Tessa’s old crate at a time. Not that I’ve tried to get them in there you understand, just that they have been in there when we first introduced it to Tess…

Linda, No problem, It might not be for everybody but it’s certainly caught my children imagination.
The dog crate is huge!! I’m sure your boys will fit in if you push hard enough!!
